Green Status of the Nissan LEAF Boosted

There are so many reasons consumers who buy the Nissan LEAF EV feel good about their purchase: no more visits to the pump, long-term savings from funds not spent on fuel, zero CO2 emissions, the car's friendly-looking aesthetic that mirrors it's eco-friendly performance, peppy driving experience... You catch our drift.

Now, there is one more reason Red River Nissan, serving Denison feels compelled to add to the list. That is, Nissan is now employing a cargo ship outfitted with solar panels to transport new Nissan LEAF EVs.

That's right; Nissan is taking their light-footprint approach from…

Nissan Demonstrates the Power of Consumer Engagement

Red River Nissan suspects there are at least a handful of Nissan enthusiasts form the Denison, TX who have watched a Nissan video on YouTube, follow Nissan on Twitter and/or are a Nissan fan on Facebook. There are, after all, hundreds-of-thousands, and in some cases millions, of drivers engaging in these activities worldwide. If you count yourself among this in-the-know collective, you'll likely agree Nissan offers the best customer engagement in the entire auto industry.

Operative word: engagement. Nissan doesn't tweet for the sake of it. Just like they don't post to their Facebook account or…

2012 Nissan Pathfinder Overview

Need something to cheer you up in these dark winter months? The completely redesigned next-generation Nissan Pathfinder will be available at Red River Nissan, serving Denison, TX, starting fall 2012.

Nissan has released one obscure teaser image to date.  Having spent a fair amount of time scrutinizing the shadowy image, Red River Nissan can say the next-gen Nissan Pathfinder appears to be sculpted in such a way that makes the SUV look like it's speeding down the highway at 90 miles per hour. In a word it's energized.

We also thought, we saw a roof rack fading into…

Like most things, all cars are not created equal.  Now, consumers would likely expect performance and convenience technology features to vary and be available at a premium. Safety, however, seems like it should be non-negotiable. Yet, there are disproportionate differenced between makes and models. Technologies designed to save lives (i.e., lane-departure systems, blind-spot warning systems, and forward collision warning) are more often than not available only on more expensive luxury cars. And even then, they're typically not standard fare. The message here, is not a positive one, and certainly not one in which Nissan wishes to take part…

New Titan Coming in 2014 to Red River Nissan

There will be a redesigned Nissan Titan coming to Denison's Red River Nissan.  Unfortunately it won't be available as soon as we had thought.  The official date for the Nissan Titan's facelift has been pushed back until 2014.

This is partially due to the tragic earthquake that struck Japan earlier this year, as well as a tsunami which occurred after.  These unfortunate events put a stop to scheduled production.  Nissan has agreed to temporarily shift Titan construction to Mexico. It should head back to Japan within the next year.

No specifics about a new Titan were stated…

An Overview of Nissans Brake Override Tech

While there are many Nissan innovations we are excited about, the Nissan Brake Override Technology has been standard on every Nisan model for the past six years.  However,  many customers still don't know what it is.  It's a system so powerful that the federal government is now considering making it a requirement that all makes and models must meet.

What exactly does Nissan Brake Override Technology do? Let us tell you. At those dire moments, when drivers try to stop at high speed and accidentally hit both the brake and accelerator, it decreases the engine throttle opening so…

Nissan Introduces Taxi of Tomorrow

Soon residents in New York City will be introduced to the taxi of tomorrow from Nissan.  It's called the Nissan NV200. Four-door sedans with big engines are being replaced by the latest in technologically advanced and eco-friendly vehicles from Nissan, including the Altima Hybrid, which is already a popular cab and police cruiser in The Big Apple.

Back in 2007, NYC officials set out to find a replacement for the old taxi cabs of their city. After 4 years of debate, the roomy and green Nissan NV200 van was chosen. The Taxi & Limousine Commission has "re-imagine the entire taxi…

Nissan and Habitat for Humanity have been in a partnership for over six years now.  It started back in 2005.  As many of you will remember 2005 is when Hurricane Katrina and Rita devastated the southeast.  Nissan has not only contributed considerable monetary donations but its employees have logged over 56,000 hours helping the non-profit build homes for people in need.

However, Nissan Americas is not stopping there. The automaker has just announced plans to grow their partnership with Habitat for Humanity. In addition to a hefty 2.5-million-dollar charitable contribution, Nissan Americas has taken the extra step of…

Gamer to Professional Racecar Driver

Red River Nissan isn't here to take a moral stance on video games. But, we would like to point out that the stereotype that video games don't translate to real life doesn't always stand true. Proving this case is none other than Nissan of North America.

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC and Nissan of North America has recently teamed up to create a five-part television series called GT Academy USA . Season One, actually just started airing on the SPEED network on September 20.

So, what's it all about and why are we at Red River Nissan…
