Nissan Introduces Taxi of Tomorrow

Soon residents in New York City will be introduced to the taxi of tomorrow from Nissan. It's called the Nissan NV200. Four-door sedans with big engines are being replaced by the latest in technologically advanced and eco-friendly vehicles from Nissan, including the Altima Hybrid, which is already a popular cab and police cruiser in The Big Apple.
Back in 2007, NYC officials set out to find a replacement for the old taxi cabs of their city. After 4 years of debate, the roomy and green Nissan NV200 van was chosen. The Taxi & Limousine Commission has "re-imagine the entire taxi system" - and we'll see them in person on the streets of NYC by 2013.
"Nissan's NV200 Taxi will be the first taxi in the world to offer new and iconic features developed for, and with, New Yorkers," said Joe Castelli, vice president, Nissan Fleet & Commercial Vehicles. "The Taxi of Tomorrow Design Expo will offer a first look at these one-of-a-kind amenities, which include increased legroom, plenty of interior lighting, and materials that reduce odors and germs while supporting sustainability."1
The NV200 will be New York City's official taxi cab for 10 years. Although we probably won't see the NV200 taxi in Denison Texas anytime soon it'll be available on our showroom floor at 2020 Highway 75 Denison, TX 75020. So, come give us a visit and browse our extensive inventory of new Nissan vehicles and used cars.
